Our second Game of the Month will be Game Art's/Working Design's LUNAR: Silver Star Story Complete. Released in 1999, it is the PS1 successor to LUNAR: The Silver Star, for the Sega CD. It tells the story of Alex Noah, a determined boy from a peaceful mountain village, who wants to be a great hero. This game, though formulaic, set the standard for much of the genre going forward, and it has stayed relevant with its well written story, unique setting and loveable characters. The soundtrack was composed by Noriyuki Iwadare, and he captured its light-hearted playful mood with a 90's anime, almost city-pop element. It still retains a fantasy undercurrent you've heard in his other works like Grandia.
