I forgot this song existed for nearly two decades until it was recently featured in Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, and now I'm obsessed all over again. I added it to my workout playlist almost immediately.

Man, 80s and early 90s anime was wild. I miss that art style.

I've been loving Caitlin Myers' renditions of Japanese city pop songs from the 80s and 90s. She works with people to translate them into English and write lyrics in a way that make more sense for English speakers. She has her own original works, too, like this one:

This is awesome! I remember recently explaining what City Pop was to Random Encounter, because I love that genre.

Agreeing with the others here, this was an instant like! I also like her cover of Plastic Love.

Great cover of a classic having a resurgence thanks to the film Saltburn:

God damn, I forgot what a banger this song is. I'm gonna have to rewatch Area 88 soon.

The Plastic Love cover is one of my favorite things I'd ever discovered on YouTube. I'd be humming the song at work constantly. It's a really well done translation and vocal mix.
