I finally started NieR: Replicant a couple weeks ago, and I've been simply blown away by its soundtrack. Nearly every track is incredible, and I find myself standing around in every new area for a long while just taking in the music.

I haven't played the remake at all, but I loved this one on the Xbox 360 where you played as the father instead of the brother. I really loved the entire soundtrack, this track in particular.

Been busting through FF5 for the first time since it came out in the PS1 release.

This time I picked up the GBA version which apparently is the best way to play it.

Such an underrated entry in the series. The game has a few world themes, but this is easily my favorite.

VVVVVV - Souleye - Positive Force

VVVVVV was such a fantastic little game with a perfect soundtrack for the vibe it had going. This is one of my favorites from the soundtrack, too.

Let's not forget the original Original Soundtrack for Super Meat Boy by Danny Baranowsky. I don't know what happened between him and the staff of Team Meat to warrant losing this OST in releases after the Xbox 360 arcade version, but the newer OST just doesn't hit like these tracks did.

After my WoW post earlier, I got to thinking about some of the fantastic music to come of the game over the years, particularly in Wrath of the Lich King and Mists of Pandaria, and anything by David Arkenstone. This is probably my all-time favorite track- It's the theme for Light's Hope Chapel, secret base of the Paladin Order. This song embodies the sadness, sense of sacrifice and hope of the paladin probably more than any other song in any other game.
