Apple sued by Biden administration over alleged iPhone 'monopoly power'

DOJ sues Apple over alleged iPhone monopoly (nbcnews.com)

Well, this has been a long time coming. Did someone on the Department of Justice get an Android phone and love it, only to find out the limitations trying to communicate with iPhone users? In any case, I'm glad it's come to light and that something official has finally been brought up about it. Maybe someday sooner than later we can start RCS messaging with our iPhone colleagues and not worry about green text messages or tiny, grainy videos.

I love how the European Union has forced their hand in terms of moving to USB-C and allowing side loading. I spent years using iPhone and enjoyed them well enough, but it's hard to imagine going back after getting used to how open and customizable Android devices are.

I think it’s odd how the DOJ defined the market that Apple monopolized. The DOJ separated iPhones and (the vast majority of) Androids by defining the market as “performance smart phones.” If I were an android manufacturer, I think I would take offense to this term.
