    Phantasy Star

Believe it or not, I've been waxing a bit nostalgic lately. I've been reliving the Glory Days of tying up the phone line playing Phantasy Star Online on my Dreamcast (best system ever) with Ghaleon and some other old friends that I hope join us here. I was obsessed with this game. I am proud that I did a bit of weapon modeling for PSO-World and that the images are still up there to this day. I tried the sequel, and while the combat was fun, it was a bit too cringe for me to get into. Does anyone else have fond memories of this game, traditional or MMO?

I didn't sign up for PSO back when it was current, though I did play the hell out of the demo. I have, however, played PSO on private servers in the years since. It's fun, and I'd be down for playing it with you sometime.

Now how about a new offline Phantasy Star? That would be pretty awesome.

      We should look into that

But yeah, it would be cool to see a new Phantasy Star. I played the offline Phantasy Star games, but only after I played the online version.

I'm nostalgic for the days when playing Phantasy Star Online on dial-up was as advanced as console gaming got. Just us and our multiple Spread Needles, paralyzing and mowing down the mobs, those were the days. All we have now is creeping fascism. 😩

PSO2 definitely had a lot of cringe in the story. Especially during the 4th wall breaking expansion where they break out of the game and hang out on Earth. But in the end, it was quite an enjoyable little story. I recommend casually putting the time in for it!

I took advantage of the English release campaigns that went on for about a year and skyrocketed players to max level. I'm a max level Force with decent-ish gear and can help people jump forward with some stuff if anyone was ever interested and wanted to make some time for it.

PSO2: New Genesis is a whole different ballgame. I haven't played it since there was only a single region and the level cap was 20. I may get the itch to keep going someday, but... I'm not too worried about it right now.

Man, I miss the PSO1 days...

There was just something about that game that made it infinitely replayable for some reason. It just had that spark...
