This came up today in my YT recommendations. I had completely forgotten about Fighter's History and the lawsuit it prompted, but this video is the exhibition Data East submitted to the court to refute Capcom's claim that Fighter's History was ripping off Street Fighter II.
Some of the similarities found within are purely superficial, but some of these characters have movesets that really do look like a total rip-off. The court seemed to agree with that too, but they ruled in favor of Data East. I wonder what effect a pro-Capcom ruling would have had on future titles like Fatal Fury and the KOF series. Also, the weak point mechanic in FIghter's History looks pretty neat, if not novel.
