Lunar Silver Star Story Touch - Apps on Google Play

I could not find this on the app store on my Google Pixel 8 Pro, however buying the game from that page and choosing my phone as the install device allowed me to get it loaded on there just fine. Weird!

Alright, so despite the name of the game, it totally supports controllers!
So far I am really digging what they've done with this mobile port, from a technical standpoint.
I haven't messed with it much yet, but so far the Left bumper and trigger buttons change how you view the game:

LB will change the view mode of the game. There are three options. "Saturn 1x," "Higher Quality 2x" and "Adaptive Widescreen 2x"
LT will cycle through the stretching and smoothing options.
From the base "Stretching Off (224px)" and "Smoothing Off" setting, LT will cycle to
"Stretching Off (224px)" and "Smoothing On," then
"Stretching On (240px)" and "Smoothing Off," then finally
"Stretching On (240px)" and "Smoothing On," before cycling back to the base setting.

You can change the UI from the "Classic" mode to the "Retro" mode:

Some other settings allow you to change the speed of running on the map, speed of battle, different touch modes,
The "Enemy Stats" setting has the option for "Harder (US PS1)" or "Easier (JP SAT)".
I just thought it was interesting that the US version of a 90s JRPG was considered the harder version :P

What's really interesting is this Music Track option giving you the option of 32- or 64-bit.
I'm really interested in diving in deeper to this one!
They give you the option for English or Japanese voice tracks. Always a nice addition.

Beyond that, the quality of the animated sequences seems to have been pretty well preserved and restored up to a modern quality. I'm not sure what the PSP versions are like, but I imagine it may just be those versions. The levels of audio between in-game spoken dialogue and animated cutscene spoken dialogue is quite contrast to each other. In-game, you're like... squinting your ears to try and hear the dialogue, then a cutscene happens and THEY ARE CLEAR AS DAY OMG.

How does this compare to the PSP version?

Lunar Legend is actually very different, with a new style of graphics, different versions of the music, and an isometric view.

How dare you confuse Lunar Legend with Silver Star Harmony!

And I'll hold out for a sale, but hot damn, I need this on my phone.
