The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered images leaked from Virtuos' website.

Oblivion images on Virtuos website : r/oblivion

The direct link to the Virtuous site is now properly locked down, but for a time people were able to freely peruse the file list and see the screenshots. Seems as if it may actually be real, and coming at some point!

Here's a link to an imgur album with a lot of those screenshots... assuming it stays up and doesn't get taken down by Virtuos or anyone else.

Would anyone choose to pay for Oblivion again, or would you rather stick to the Skyblivion mod coming to Skyrim?

EDIT: It's official! All will be revealed....

I have a fondness of Oblivion as it was my first Elder Scrolls game. I would not be opposed to an official remake that brings us a more up to date engine. And at least jt isn't yet another reissue of Skyrim! I'll be watching this with cautious interest.

The rumors were right about this, barring the leak being an elaborate prank by the development company somehow. If the rumors remain true, this will be the first Elder Scrolls game to run in Unreal Engine! That would be enough for me to get it, just to feel the difference in clunk.

I just won't be happy unless I can walk to the moon on a stairway of floating paintbrushes!

Oblivion was my first and only Elder Scrolls game. Fallout was always my focus.

I'll pick it up when it goes on sale at some point. The story never did much for me, but I heavily enjoyed the exploration.

I hope they hired more voice actors for this version lol

Yeah the story is mids. In Oblivion the real narrative is widely considered to be the Shivering Isles expansion's storyline. If you haven't gone that route in Oblivion then I highly recommend you give it a try!

Extended Look at The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

There have been a ton of updates done to this one.
Not least of all its 120GB size! 20x the 6GB the original game was, more or less.

I think I am most interested in the controls. They make it sound like it's been completely refined, and I personally might actually stick with it this time around.

Just having integrated controller support in the PC port will be a big step up. It took years and years to finally get a mod that did this for the original PC release.

So having picked it up and spent a couple of hours with it, my impressions so far:
                    • Still fundamentally the same game, mostly for the better and only a tiny bit for the worse (two crashes to desktop so far, but it is an Elder Scrolls game after all)
                    • The game looks gorgeous even on low settings
                    • Leveling still gives you the customization of the original Oblivion but is more lenient in a Skyrim way in that even minor skills contribute to gaining your next level now
                    • Some extra voice acting has been added to pad out the monotony of the original's limited cast
                    • Picking alchemical agents in the field removes them like in Skyrim, which is SUPER nice
I'm getting a new machine this weekend that should allow me to significantly crank up the settings, so I'll have more impressions as I do more MSQ and some Oblivion gates. I don't know yet if this is $50 dollars worth of game, but this is a significant graphical upgrade that will almost certainly get a lot of post-release love from the modding community.
