Even though the May GotM isn't scheduled to start until tonight, I'd like to go ahead and get the ball rolling on what games you folks would like to see for June! Remember: if you like the suggestion, leave a thumbs up reaction on the post. You can suggest a game that hasn't been suggested before, but you can also suggest an already suggested game that hasn't yet been picked for GotM.
I'll open with my suggestion: the Streets of Rage series. I think this would be a great chance to not only get some multiplayer action going, but also to once again hear those absolutely sick tunes. 🎶1Comment

I'm gonna go old school and recommend Legend of Zelda 1 on the NES. I'm in the mood for some NES stuff.1Comment

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! The voting thread is now up. Please head over that way to vote, and remember: if your game of choice didn't make it this go around, you can submit it again in the future. Thank you!Comment

Do you mean all the games (1, 2, 64, Assault, and Adventure / Not sure if you could stream command easily) or all the paths on an individual game? That seems pretty neat.Comment

With all the suggestion threads merged now (take a look at the OP if you haven't yet!), my next GotM suggestion got eaten up in the process. So I'll suggest it once again: Illusion of Gaia! It's a great game with nice visuals and a memorable soundtrack. I think it would make for a good month-long stream.Last edited by Random Encounter; 06-05-2024, 03:13 PM.2Comment

Thank you for doing the work on this, Random Encounter! I think this is a much more streamlined way to do this, until we grow larger. galaxybrain2Comment

Updated the OP with a link to our GotM master list. We'll keep it updated as we play games and collect suggestions from the community. I hope this is helpful to you all!1Comment

Some might scoff at this suggestion, but...
Final Fantasy XV.
I am of the mind that XV is a very good game in spite of its labored development and staggered DLC/QOL releases. Is it the best Final Fantasy? No, probably not. Is it a game worth playing that many ignore because Square-Enix's internal quibbles, and the Square fanbase not believing it to be same high standard of previous Final Fantasy titles? Yes. Despite all of this, XV is a fascinating game that many people should at least take an honest look at.
XV is fascinating. It's often silly, often intensely serious, and frankly much of it feels disjointed because the tone is hard to pin. Despite (or because of) the game's tonal indecision, I think that XV also has one of the most powerful endings in the series. There's a lot to enjoy and argue regarding XV, and I think that makes it a great game for streaming discussion.
I also think there are a lot of people who did not play XV because internal development decisions became so polarizing with SE fans, which brings a certain curiosity to the title. For instance, many people don't know just how much the Royal Edition adds to the game through plot and gameplay. FFXV Royal Ed. is a very different game than XV was on release, and revisiting the actual complete product could be interesting for viewers.
A retrospective on XV is something I've been tossing around in my head. Luminous Productions, the dev team, was mired in such a fascinating amalgamation of fan expectation, internal politics, and hubris. XV is what happens when you have lots of people with good ideas who just can't come together and decide on an ideal plan, and a lot of that started with the pre-planning before the development even properly began!
...But yeah, I think XV would be a clever pick.1Comment
