Hah, this takes me right back. 10 years old, Christmas eve party at a neighbor's house. Neighbor's son booted this up on the SNES and I didn't pay attention to anything else that night. Played through it myself on an emulator 15 years later. Loved it.
The sequel was Japan only, but you can find a patched version and play it yourself. It's a very different game in many ways but still a good one.Comment

A beautiful classic. I could only name a handful of JRPG "it's a castle" songs that stack up to this one, and most of those are in other Final Fantasy gamesComment

Today's song of the day comes to us from Kenichi Arakawa, who composed the soundtrack for the DS game The Dark Spire. This game was made for all the Wizardry nerds out there, so if you like old-school dungeon crawlers then I highly recommend it. Enjoy the game's battle theme!
SPOILERAnd if you choose to play the game in Classic mode, you'll get this instead:
