Today's song of the day is Lux Tizer's theme from The 7th Saga, composed by Norihiko Yamanuki. This game showed off the sound and graphic capabilities that the SNES could offer, and this song makes you feel like you really are on a journey.

Hah, this takes me right back. 10 years old, Christmas eve party at a neighbor's house. Neighbor's son booted this up on the SNES and I didn't pay attention to anything else that night. Played through it myself on an emulator 15 years later. Loved it.

The sequel was Japan only, but you can find a patched version and play it yourself. It's a very different game in many ways but still a good one.

It's been several days since our last track of the day, so let me remedy this with a pick Althena inadvertently put in my head: Edgar & Sabin's theme from Final Fantasy VI, composed by the legendary Nobuo Uematsu!

A beautiful classic. I could only name a handful of JRPG "it's a castle" songs that stack up to this one, and most of those are in other Final Fantasy games

Today's song of the day comes to us from Kenichi Arakawa, who composed the soundtrack for the DS game The Dark Spire. This game was made for all the Wizardry nerds out there, so if you like old-school dungeon crawlers then I highly recommend it. Enjoy the game's battle theme!

SPOILERAnd if you choose to play the game in Classic mode, you'll get this instead:

Today's song is called Danger Lurks Ahead, from the SNES port of Eye of the Beholder. Tatsuya Nishimura composed the original tracks for this version, and they are IMO pretty sweet. I may pick a song down the road from the PC98 port of EotB, scored by none other than Yuzo Koshiro!
