Nintendo Switch 2 sets record, selling over 3.5 million units globally in first four days - News - Nintendo Official Site
What a record breaking number. I expected it to do well, but not this well. Apparently in Japan alone, Switch 2 outsold the PS2 by nearly 1.5x, breaking through that PS2 record by a landslide. It's incredible to me that a system with really hardly any exclusive representation for itself outside of patches for existing Switch 1 games and Mario Kart has this many people hyped to upgrade to the new system.
I know for me, I always buy a new system even if I don't have something I want to play because I have faith there will be plenty of software down the line I will want to pick up. It's been a tried and true practice that's shown to be true for myself across every system I've bought so far in life. But I also know the majority of people don't consider purchases through faith. Could the upgrades to Switch 1 titles have been enough for these kinds of sales figures?
